About Us

We're Steamwhistle Coffee Roasters, and we've been a local coffee shop and cafe here in Crown Point, IN, since 2017. We believe coffee should keep you chugging, powering through your day, telling you, “I think I can”, even when you’re dragging your caboose. Board the Steamwhistle express to a better cup of coffee, offering dine-in, carry out and food truck service. We started this business as my husband Brett rode the trails across the country for work. I honed my craft of toasting small-batch, organic coffee along the way. We're looking forward to growing our business to continue to serve Crown Point and the surrounding communities. We'd like to personally invite you to stop in today for in-house fresh roasted coffee, delicious bakery treats, and packaged coffee to go. We do not accept call in orders on weekends but encourage our customers to place orders online through our website!

SteamWhistle is located across from the Lake County Fairgrounds in a small plaza. The cafe is always busy with customers coming and going. They offer a wide selection of coffee drinks, sandwiches, and pastries. I tried an iced white mocha with lavender and a milk substitute, which I found to be quite good. We also ordered a breakfast grilled cheese, and it was incredibly cheesy and delicious. Additionally, they have a great selection of tea and merchandise. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend checking them out; it will be worth it! You can also order ahead, which I suggest doing, especially since it was packed the Saturday we visited.
