About Us

We're Steamwhistle Coffee Roasters, and we've been a local coffee shop and cafe here in Crown Point, IN, since 2017. We believe coffee should keep you chugging, powering through your day, telling you, “I think I can”, even when you’re dragging your caboose. Board the Steamwhistle express to a better cup of coffee, offering dine-in, carry out and food truck service. We started this business as my husband Brett rode the trails across the country for work. I honed my craft of toasting small-batch, organic coffee along the way. We're looking forward to growing our business to continue to serve Crown Point and the surrounding communities. We'd like to personally invite you to stop in today for in-house fresh roasted coffee, delicious bakery treats, and packaged coffee to go. We do not accept call in orders on weekends but encourage our customers to place orders online through our website!

Cute place! Stopped in after a doctor's appointment and was not dissapointed. I have had a few of their treats in a cup a few times since if I'm not mistaken they have a really neat "food truck" at the St John farmer's market. Their menu was more extensive than I would have thought! I would like to go back and try a few more flavors. I had a banana latte and my fiance had a creative drink with white chocolate, I think regular chocolate & spearmint. Really balanced drink. At some other coffee shops it's too common to get sugar shots and not enough actual flavor in the syrup. Not this place. Both our drinks tasted like expected. Decor is put together and people were friendly. Definitely putting this place in my coffee shop rotation. Update : Food is also really really good.. Portions aren't very big but at least you won't overeat! Stop in to see their creative specials! Update since Google keeps asking: you can buy Earthling Bee Honey here. They also have a free give/take library.

I've been visiting Steamwhistle Coffee Roasters regularly for over three years. The sandwiches are great as are the baked goods, which are made on site. They roast their own beans - I am partial to the dark roast Sumatra. Overall, the place has great atmosphere, great coffee and food and outstanding staff. I have moved out of the area and only stop by when I am nearby. I miss it
